I love the concept of artist Kristof Saelen’s website Very Important Pixels. From his site…
“VIPs (Very Important Pixels) serves y’all with a weekly dose of the finest pixel art. Miniature versions of your favorite (in)famous people are represented as recognizable little characters.”
He already covered all my favorite movies (any James Bond and Star Wars) besides Godfather, which I can only assume will be coming down the pipeline in the coming weeks/months. Put this website in your list of sites for your Monday morning round up. Sitting in your office/cubicle/classroom rueing the fact that Monday has yet again rolled around.

See THIS is why I haven’t put up my Warhols yet. Multiple Andy Warhol paintings were stolen from businessman Richard L. Weisman’s house in Los Angeles Sept. 2nd. It says that among the stolen pieces were 10 Warhols of famous athletes. Sounds like a hit to me. I sure hope he had insurance cause them s***’s are on the black market.

Shepard Fairey Interviews Banksy

Huge artists getting together apparently is the new thing. In this Swindle Magazine article Shepard Fairey gets to some of Banksys thoughts on his mural in Palestine (below), his anonymity and how he feels about the art world. Very cool and interesting read if you got 10 minutes.

“Every graffiti writer should go there. They’re building the biggest wall in the world. I painted on the Palestinian side, and a lot of them weren’t sure about what I was doing. They didn’t understand why I wasn’t just writing “down with Israel” in big letters and painting pictures of the Israeli prime minister hanging from a rope.”

This a rad idea. This book is called “The Rest Is Up To You: A Boy Named Cohen Morano, 118 Artists, and a Watercolor Revolution”. Here’s the background for this book from his dad Aye Jay’s website…
