Do you remember the first time taking the subway in a major city? I remember my first trip to NYC in ’06 and that feeling of not knowing what was gonna be at the top of the tunnel when I popped out.

Sarah Klein and Tom Mason have captured that feeling with this video, Sub City, which was filmed in Paris. I clearly need to book my flight for a European Vacay.

Le Tour De France

We’re a little late to the party, but serious cycling has returned to France for this year’s Tour de France. Now we all know that the French can be a little dirty, but damn do they know how to throw a two-wheeled party. The 98th edition of the tour takes place from July 2nd to July 28th and covers 3,430 kilometers (2,131 miles for all you standard system patriots) over the course of 21 stages. Sweeping views of the French countryside and skinny guys with accents? Count me in.

The tour resumes today for Stage 9, traveling from Issoire to Saint-Flour covering 208 kilometers (again for the red-white-and blue crowd, 129 miles). Follow along as teams jockey for position and try their best to put their man on the podium.

Something tells me that inferior equipment wasn’t the only reason that overall times have improved over the years.

Can’t look forward without taking a look in the rear view. Eddie Merckx in the turning lane, followed by what has to be a Russian spy who was looking for James Bond. Amongst numerous records that he holds, Merckx was the 1st man in the history of the tour to capture the yellow, green, and red polka-dotted jerseys in 1969.

I got hooked up with the best/worst site of all time. It’s the Real Life Superheroes Registry.

Here’s a screen shot of some of the registered Superheroes. There’s a little wiki page for each of ‘em, which is awesome because you can find out their “Tools Of The Trade” and “Real Life Activites”. It’s as if Midas himself came down and touched this website, gold.

I got caught up watching the early 90′s classic “Airborne” today. What a throwback.

Classic fish out of water plot. Kid from California goes and lives with his cousin in Cincinnati for 6 months. Several fights, rollerblade hockey games and high school crushes happen and then he goes home.

The soundtrack is epic. I pulled this gem from it.

I’ve always wanted to see something ridiculous like this go down with a washing machine. This dude has a broken washing machine going full tilt and drops a cinder block in at around 55 seconds.
